WASNC Events
WASNC's winter program of events has now concluded and the Society is now formulating its series for the second half of the year.
Congratulations to WALES ON THEIR GRAND SLAM
Wales claimed their third Six Nations Grand Slam in eight years when they beat World Cup finalists France 16-9 at the Millennium Stadium
The victory, following successes over Ireland (23-21), Scotland (27-13), England (19-12) and Italy (24-3), was sweet revenge one-point loss Wales suffered against France in the World Cup semi-final. A try by winger Alex Cuthbert, allied with three penalties and a conversion by Leigh Halfpenny were enough to see off a French side that scored three penalties through Dimitri Yachvili (2) and Lionel Beauxis.
The Web and Blog Sites
WASNC is still developing its website and electronic presence. Over the last few months, the Society has built its platforms, basically this site and the sister blog site, and is now seeking more content for both. Check back on a regular basis.
WASNC's Digital media is run by Terry Escott as part of the society's modernization plans.
Membership News
WASNC is seeking new members and over the next few weeks the Society will be launching online membership.
In the interim, you can still join the Society by contacting the Membership Director.
Longer term plans....
When
you consider that just the nine counties California's San Francisco Bay Area
alone are bigger than Wales itself, you can imagine how hard it is to get people
together. Therefore, the Society's long term plan is that through its
activities, membership and digital media, WASNC will be the premier source of
Welsh information in Northern California, providing links to other Welsh-related
websites and organizations that will enable everyone to explore their Welsh
heritage.
